Letter in Barnet Press today: STOP INVESTING IN THE ARMS TRADE

This letter appeared in the 27 November 2014 edition:

Not many ratepayers in Barnet will know and approve of the fact that the council invests its money not only in tobacco firms, but also in the arms trade.

The arms trade creates humanitarian and economic problems, both for the poorest people in the world and for the international community as a whole.

Once the weapons are sold, there is no telling under whose control they will end up.

The Barnet Green Party is calling on the council to invest ethically.

Gadir (oops, should be Gardi, guys!) Vaswani, Barnet Green Party,
